Is the service confidential?

Yes, the content of the sessions is wholly confidential in accordance with BACP ethical guidelines. However, if we believe you are a serious harm to yourself or others, particularly a child, we may need to disclose this to others. However we would attempt to talk this through with you beforehand.

How many sessions will I need?

As each person is unique and has different issues it will vary from person to person. We recommend that we work together for 6 sessions initially, preferably on a weekly basis as this helps to build a good relationship in which to nderstand your concerns. This will be reviewed to see if this meets your needs currently or if further work is required for your future needs. We can also work in an open ended or long term way if this suits you better.

How much do you charge?

Our charges are £40-£45 per 50 minute session. However, we do at times, offer concessions for trainee counsellors. Payment may be made at the end of each session by cheque or cash or if you prefer you could pay for a block of sessions in advance.

Do you offer weekend and evening appointments?

We generally offer day and early evening appointments, however we also have an associate counsellor who is able to offer evening and weekend appointments. Wendy's hours are 9am-6pm, Monday to Friday (excluding Wednesdays). Tricia's hours are 10am-7pm, Monday to Friday.

Our Associates

We have contacts with a variety of colleagues in the counselling world to whom we can call on for their expertise when required or if we need to refer you onto someone with more relevant eperience.
